In order to enhance the unique character of the historical Piazza di Siena and add value to the technical-sporting standards of this international showjumping event, as of this year, the Rome CSIO will be stage on a significantly enlarged competition arena.

In 2022, part of the upgrading had already been anticipated, albeit only from an aesthetic point of view, with the temporary grassing of the gravel side aisles around the oval-shaped arena; this year, with the relocation of the fence, these grassy areas have become an integral part of the competition field, which now is 10,560 square metre large.
