Ninety-one times for Piazza di Siena: horses and athletes, art and biodiversity
Ninety-one times for Piazza di Siena in the name of art, restoration, commitment to biodiversity and to the rhythm of sporting feats for horses and riders engaged in the most beautiful competition in the world.
Piazza di Siena - one of the leading (and glamorous) sports appointments in the Capital's busy agenda of major international events – lights up again the planetary fresco of equestrian sports with the 91st edition of Rome’s Official International Horse Show- Master d'Inzeo, to be held in the Villa Borghese historical oval-shaped arena from May 22 to May 26.
Wednesday 22 of May will mark the opening of the four eagerly-awaited days of competitions, free of charge for all to see, in line with the tradition of the recent editions of this jumping event. The sport program will always be at the highest level and will unfold in the historical locations, the most admired Green Oval in the world and the Galoppatoio facility, redeveloped and reinterpreted not only from a sporting point of view through a project by FISE and Sport e Salute Spa.
The unique natural light filtered by centuries-old trees will introduce the evening of May 22, with the traditional music event in the Piazza di Siena Oval: the great concert of the orchestra conducted by Maestro Alvise Casellati. An event organised by Intesa Sanpaolo, a private concert that will remain free of charge, in line with the philosophy of the Piazza di Siena model, for those who wish to enjoy it from the steps of the Oval's ancient grandstands, restored for the Horse Show while waiting for the project to be implemented.
Instead, the afternoon will be devoted to the traditional parade of mounted polo players along Via dei Condotti, a charming side event displaying the spectacular sporting side of great international polo, on stage at the Galoppatoio di Villa Borghese from Thursday 23 to Saturday 25 of May with the Roman leg of the Italia Polo Challenge.
The climax of the Piazza di Siena Competition will be reached in the late afternoon and at the end of the competitions, with the exciting and spectacular Carousels of the 4th Mounted Carabinieri Regiment, the Lancieri di Montebello and San Raffaele Viterbo boys and girls.
