The event that will take place in the heart of Villa Borghese from May 21 to 25 is expected to be extremely exciting, thanks to the participation of many of the best pairs in the world.

Last year the competition arena was further enhanced, after its upgrading project launched by the organisers (Sport e Salute and the Italian Equestrian Sports Federation FISE) in 2018 to re-grass the historic ellipse and replace its longstanding silica sand surface. The addition of a turf ring throughout the entire perimeter brought the size of the competition arena closer to the best international venues. A remarkable change, especially in terms of greater competition course construction opportunities.

As to the sport, 10 official teams of four riders per nation will compete in the Intesa Sanpaolo Nations Cup on Friday May 23. Other riders from abroad will also be competing as on an individual basis. Italy will be represented not only by the team but also by another 22 athletes, 10 of whom will be eligible for the Grand Prix.

For the first time, the 92nd edition of the CSIO will be enriched by another international event, a CSIU25-A reserved for riders under 25, with many already famous names in the most important show jumping competitions.
